Lucknow. Samajwadi Party is presently undergoing a marked metamorphosis with the advent of Shivpal Singh Yadav as a prospective de-facto supremo of the party. In the aftermath of an unsatisfactory performance in the 2022 assembly elections, where the party failed to form government in Uttar Pradwsh, Shivpal's neglect is being highlighted as a factor that led to their defeat

In the absence of Akhilesh Yadav, it was Shivpal Singh Yadav who took charge of the meeting of the Members of the Legislative Assembly, assuming a role of leadership. He delivered a message that he shall be the harbinger of the decision-making process for the 2024 and 2027 elections.

Many within the party are now wondering if Shivpal will become the new power center of the party, given his vast experience in organizational leadership. It is also believed that senior and experienced leaders who had been lying on the sidelines will now get preference with the arrival of Shivpal.

The move comes after a period of declining discipline within the party, which was damaging the party's reputation. Akhilesh has fought and lost four elections and his performance had been under scrutiny. The death of Mulayam Singh Yadav beoken the ice in the relations of Saifai family and Akhilesh himself went to Shivpal's house to persuade him to return to the party fold.

As the winds of change gust through the Samajwadi Party, the question of whether Shivpal will ascend to the rank of de-facto supremo or if Akhilesh will retain his hold remains uncertain. Nevertheless, this maneuver represents a noteworthy change in the party's course and the unfolding of events in the following months promises to be captivating.
