Varanasi. Envision the most peculiar of circumstances, wherein one is pronounced dead in official government records and despite his diehard efforts to convince the authorities of his existence, he is eventually apprehended and put behind bars. Such an unbelievable event has occurred, as the Chaubepur PS under Varanasi Police Commissionerate have taken into custody a man who has been deemed deceased in government records for many years.

The tale of Santosh Murat Singh may not be one of heroism, but it certainly stands as a representation of a cohort of individuals who have fought an extensive and challenging battle to prove oneself alive in the face of being officially declared deceased.

The case of Santosh Murat Singh has been a long and arduous battle to prove that he is alive and yet, he now finds himself behind bars on charges of assault, molestation and the SC/ST Act.

The case has raised many questions about how the court will proceed further with a case against someone who is officially dead. Will the court declare him alive to pronounce judgment, or will Santosh remain a dead man walking behind bars? It is a bizarre and unfortunate turn of events for Santosh, who now faces an uphill battle to prove his innocence and his existence.

Santosh, who has been carrying a board around his neck that reads "Main Zinda Hoon" (I am alive) for many years, has been fighting a long battle to prove his existence. He claims that he had gone to Mumbai years ago and had become a cook for film actor Nana Patekar. However, when he returned home after a long time, he found that his name had been declared dead in government records and many bighas of land in his name had been taken over by his own relatives in his village.

Despite his efforts to prove that he is alive, Santosh has been called to the police station whenever there is a VIP movement in the city. On Monday, the Chaubepur police arrested him on the warrant of the court. Moreover, Santosh has a pending case from 2019 that includes charges of assault, molestation, death threat, and SC/S T act. The arrest of Santosh was made along with the arrest of Omprakash Rajbhar and Shekhar Rajbhar, residents of Gourdih, who were also arrested on the warrant of the court and sent to jail.
