Dehradun. District officials of Uttrakhand state have been directed by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to see that bonfires are installed and that warm clothing and quilts are given to those in need. Following a surprise inspection, the chief minister has also given directives for night shelter improvement.

The directives were given in the midst of a temperature drop that is probably going to cause cold waves in the state.

The chief minister has asked the SDMs in the tribal areas make sure that the populace is provided with the necessary winter clothing. Additionally, he asked the authorities to monitor the state's hospitals.

The Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the Doon Hospital late on Saturday night and gave blankets to the needy.
