Ayodhya witnessed a spectacular celebration of Deepotsav 2023, as millions of lamps illuminated the banks of the Sarayu River, setting a new Guinness World Record. The grand event, marked by the lighting of an astounding 22,23,000 lamps at 51 ghats, garnered global attention with the presence of over 50 ambassadors from various countries.

The meticulous counting of lamps, facilitated by drones commissioned by the Guinness Book of World Records, added a unique technological aspect to the religious and cultural festivity. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, was honoured with a certificate recognizing the monumental achievement, symbolizing the convergence of tradition and innovation.

The radiant glow of the lamps mirrored the divine fervour of the Deepotsav, captivating the hearts of devotees and onlookers. Organizers Swapnil Dangarekar and consultant Nishchal Barot played pivotal roles in ensuring the flawless execution of the event, infusing fresh enthusiasm among the gathered faithful as the news of the record spread.

This year's feat surpassed previous records, highlighting the exponential growth of Deepotsav in Ayodhya. The progression from 1.87 lakh lamps in 2017 to an awe-inspiring 15.76 lakh lamps in 2022 showcased the escalating scale and significance of the annual celebration.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, addressing the congregation, reflected on the evolution of Deepotsav since its inception in 2017. He recalled the initial fervour expressed by Ayodhya's residents, wherein they said, "Yogi Ji ek kaam karo, mandir ka nirmaan karo," which passionately called for the construction of Lord Shri Ram's grand temple. After centuries of sacrifices, movements, and campaigns, the momentous occasion of Lord Shri Ram's imminent residence in the temple was acknowledged.

In anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit on January 22 for the temple's placement ceremony, Chief Minister Yogi emphasized the historic importance of the welcome that Ayodhya residents should accord. The echoes of 'Jai Shri Ram' resonated through the historic city, signifying not just a record-breaking event but a spiritual and cultural triumph that echoed across borders and generations.
