Varanasi. Due to the expected high volume of visitors at the Kashi Vishwanath Dham temple for New Year celebrations, the administration has put in place measures to manage the crowd. These include the implementation of "Jhanki Darshan" and the suspension of "Sparsh Darshan" for Lord Shiva at the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple from December 31 to January 2. These arrangements have been made to ensure the safety of devotees visiting the temple.

According to the divisional commissioner, Kaushal Raj Sharma, measures such as "Jankhi Darshan" and the suspension of "Sparsh Darshan" have been put in place in order to manage the large crowd of devotees expected at the temple on New Year's Day. On January 1, 2022, approximately 7 lakh devotees visited the temple to offer prayers.

"There will likely be a larger number of worshippers at the temple over the weekend," the commissioner stated. To prepare for this, a practice run of managing the crowd will be held on December 30, and the temple will have special arrangements in place from December 31 to January 2 to handle the expected increased attendance, the commissioner added.

According to him, efforts are being made to accommodate as many worshippers as possible at the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham temple premises in order to prevent overcrowding on the city's streets.

Devotees will be able to enter the KV Dham through all four gates to view Lord Shiva during the Jhanki Darshan. The same arrangement will apply to VIPs.
