Lucknow. Ayodhya is about to witness a significant change with the Shri Ram International Airport all set to begin its commercial operations from October this year. The airport is currently being constructed and has made significant progress with 90% of the runway work already completed and 75% of the main building constructed. The remaining work is expected to wrap up by July.

The runway at Shri Ram International Airport is 2250 meters long and 60 meters wide, making it capable of accommodating large passenger planes. The airport is being built with the aim of promoting tourism and facilitating better connectivity to Ayodhya, the holy city of Lord Ram.

In a bid to maintain the cultural heritage of Ayodhya, the Airport Authority has procured stones from Rajasthan for the building's construction, which will resemble the Shri Ram Janmasthan temple. This will provide a unique and distinctive look to the airport.

It is expected that passenger airplanes will commence operation prior to the Deepotsav festival which is held during the occasion of Deepawali. The commencement of commercial flights from Shri Ram International Airport is expected to give a significant boost to the local economy and tourism in Ayodhya. It is hoped that the airport will attract a large number of tourists to the city, especially during the upcoming Deepawali festival.

The authorities are optimistic about the success of the airport and the potential it holds for the region. With the completion of the remaining work by July, the airport is all set to start operations in October, marking a major milestone for Ayodhya's development.
