Varanasi: The first group of delegates from Tamil Nadu who travelled to Kashi for the "Kashi Tamil Sangamam" stopped at the Mulgandha Kuti Vihar at Sarnath, the Ghats of the holy Ganges, the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Tathagat Ghat, and the exhibition sites on the vast Banaras Hindu University campus.

Early in the morning, the delegates turned up at the banks of the Ganga, where they took a dip at the Hanuman Ghat while experiencing the morning chill in the warm sunshine. They took a bath before going to Baba Darbar, where they meditated at the Kashi Vishwanath temple. They found great satisfaction in Baba's meditation and taking baths in the holy Ganges.

The delegates went to Sarnath, one of the four primary Buddhist pilgrimage sites. They enjoyed the cultural evening and were thrilled to visit the Tathagat Ghat in Sarai Mohana, which is close to Sarnath. Visiting the location of Lord Buddha's first sermon, they learned about the region's ancient history and heritage. Delegates expressed their joy at seeing the "Mulgandha Kuti Vihar," an archaeological complex, and the places close by.

The "Sangam" jointly lit by Shivamaya (Kashi) and Shaktimaya (Tamil Nadu), and under its enveloping aura, the event's ecstasy spread throughout all generations.

The historic "Kashi Tamil Sangamam" event has seen an astounding turnout of guests and delegates from Tamil Nadu, the presence of local Kashi residents was equally impressive.
