The ancient city of Kashi, also known as the "City of Moksha", is preparing to expand facilities for those attending last rites at its major funeral places, Manikarnika and Harishchandra Ghat. The Municipal Commissioner, Pranay Singh, has been assigned the responsibility of overseeing these plans by Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma.

The ancient city of Kashi, also known as the "City of Moksha", is preparing to expand facilities for those attending last rites at its major funeral places, Manikarnika and Harishchandra Ghat. The Municipal Commissioner, Pranay Singh, has been assigned the responsibility of overseeing these plans by Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma.

According to the Executive Engineer Ajay Kumar, two schemes are proposed at Manikarnika Ghat. The first plan is the construction of a rest house by the Municipal Corporation for people comingfor the people coming to attend the funeral. The second plan is to install a plant for cremation of dead bodies with lesser usage of wood. Discussions are currently underway with an organization to materialize these plans.

At Harishchandra Ghat, two new crematoriums are to be constructed. There are already two crematoriums at this location and basic facilities such as toilets, drinking water, chairs, and lighting will be added to these new crematoriums.

The project at both Manikarnika and Harishchandra Ghat will be financed using CSR funds from various institutions. The design and safety of the new facilities are being given special attention to ensure that visitors do not face any problems during their visit.
