Varanasi: The Varanasi-based Skill India International Centre (SIIC) progress was reviewed by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.The centre is developed to prepare Indian youth for employment opportunities abroad in logistics, port operations, and related fields.

The minister gave instructions to all key stakeholders, including RDSDE, NSTIs, ITIs, and NSDC, to coordinate their efforts in order to increase youth employment opportunities abroad in Varanasi and surrounding districts. Varanasi's Divisional Commissioner was asked to monitor the progress personally.

Minister reviewed the steps taken to encourage and inform interested candidates by providing all the resources pertaining to the vacancies in the Gulf countries. He was addressing the concerned officials during an important meeting on Sunday at the Circuit House Auditorium.

Minister Dharmendra Pradhan instructed officials to place as many candidates as possible abroad, particularly in Gulf nations. He assured the candidates, the government would offer trained candidates every kind of assistance.

The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma, District Magistrate S. Rajalingam, Deputy Director, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, Abhishek Meena, COO of NSDC Vedamani Tiwari, Ajay Kumar Raina, General Manager of various service providers DP World Dubai Subhransh Srivastava, officials of DGT and others.
