The news has cast a shadow of grief over BJP leaders, given Ojha's respected position as one of the select few with direct access to PM Modi, a bond that persisted from their days in Gujarat to the spiritual city of Varanasi.

Sunil Ojha previously served as the coordinator of the Kashi region, playing a pivotal role in shaping election strategies during PM Modi's announcement of candidacy from Varanasi in 2014. His involvement extended to discussions regarding the Gadoli Dham on the Varanasi-Mirzapur border, further highlighting his influential role.

Originally from the Bhavnagar district in Gujarat, Sunil Ojha was recognized as one of PM Modi's close associates within the party ranks. Several months ago, he underwent a transfer from Uttar Pradesh to Bihar, initially assuming the role of co-incharge in UP before being appointed as the party's co-incharge in Bihar.

Known for his political acumen and dedication, Ojha, who served as the election in-charge during PM Modi's first election in 2002 in Rajkot, shared a longstanding association with the Prime Minister dating back to Modi's tenure as the organizational general secretary.
