Renowned for his tough and rugged persona, Nana Patekar found himself at the centre of attention in Varanasi on Tuesday, displaying his stern demeanour during the filming of "Journey." The incident that unfolded involved the actor reportedly slapping a fan who had approached him for a selfie near Dashashwamedh Ghat. The repercussions were swift, with the crew intervening promptly, seizing the fan, and escorting him away. The video capturing this altercation has swiftly become a viral sensation.

Nana Patekar is presently deeply engrossed in the shooting of "Journey," a film that features him alongside Anil Sharma, famed for his work in "Gadar." This cinematic venture is set to unfold across various locations in Varanasi, with the shooting schedule extending into the coming month. On the day of the incident, the film crew progressed along the route to Dashashwamedh Ghat, drawing a crowd eager to catch a glimpse of Nana. Dressed sharply in a cowboy cap, Nana stood out. Within this gathering, a young man approached the actor for a selfie. However, before the fan could immortalize the moment, Nana purportedly delivered a slap to the back of his head. The crew acted swiftly, intervening to remove the fan, and the video capturing this incident is now circulating widely on social media.

Following this, Amitabh Thakur, National President of the Azaadi Rights Army, is calling for the registration of an FIR against Nana Patekar. Thakur claims Patekar slapped a fan capturing a selfie near Dashashwamedh Ghat during a film shoot, with a crew member allegedly causing harm to the fan's neck. The gravity of the situation is amplified by the celebrity status of Nana Patekar, prompting Thakur to emphasize the need for prompt legal action in response to the severity of the incident.

This occurrence has raised pertinent questions about Nana Patekar's stern demeanor. Some argue for better control over his harsh nature, while others speculate about potential contributing factors such as fatigue or stress. On Twitter, reactions have been vocal and critical. One user expressed deep disappointment, stating, "Disheartened to learn about Nana Patekar's recent act of physically assaulting a fan seeking a selfie in Varanasi. As someone who admired his work, this incident has shattered my respect for him. Celebrities must remember that fame doesn't justify crossing boundaries. #LostRespect." Another Twitter user insisted, "This man must be taught mannerism." The incident has triggered a broader discussion about the responsibility of celebrities and the limits of their behaviour.
