In the recent incident involving a fan, Nana Patekar addressed the situation, clarifying that it resulted from confusion. Nana Patekar, well-known for his role in "Gadar 2," is presently involved in the filming of Anil Sharma's movie "Journey," which is taking place at various locations in Varanasi. During a Tuesday afternoon shoot near Dashashwamedh Ghat, Nana, wearing a cowboy cap, drew attention from a gathering crowd. Within this assembly, a young man approached Nana for a selfie and unintentionally received a slap to the back of his head. The incident, captured on video, quickly gained traction, leading to criticism on Instagram and other platforms. Subsequently, Nana publicly apologized for the incident.

Encountering opposition from various individuals in Varanasi, including former IG Amitabh Thakur, who called for an FIR, Nana Patekar extended his apology on Wednesday night, providing clarity on the matter.

Nana explained that the circulated video is part of a sequence from their film. In the scene, he wears a hat, and an individual behind him makes a disrespectful remark. Responding to this, Nana scolds the person, emphasizing proper behavior. This scene had been rehearsed previously, but during the subsequent rehearsal, an unexpected child, featured in the video, appeared. Unaware of the actual situation, Nana slapped the child and instructed him to leave.

It later emerged that the individual was not associated with their film crew, and attempts to locate him proved unsuccessful. Nana clarified that they have never rejected photo requests before and attributed the incident to a misunderstanding, mistaking the person for a member of their team.

Assertively, Nana stated that such violent behavior is not in their nature and sought forgiveness for any misunderstanding. Expressing gratitude for the widespread support, regardless of whether it came from Varanasi or elsewhere, Nana conveyed their commitment to refraining from such actions. They expressed hope that the young man would come forward to seek forgiveness, and the search for him would continue. Acknowledging that he left out of fear during the rehearsal, leading to the unintentional incident, Nana earnestly pleaded for forgiveness and reiterated their commitment to non-violence.

Director Anil Sharma shed light on the situation, emphasizing that the scene in question is a part of their film. He highlighted the challenges of unnecessary controversies lacking context and explained that Nana's character in the film is associated with dementia. The scene portrays a man approaching him for a photo, coincidentally aligning with the viral incident.
