On Thursday, an explosion occurred in Milan's Porta Romana district, burning several vehicles and damaging nearby buildings. The incident injured one person, but there were no reported deaths.

According to the fire department, the explosion occurred in a van carrying oxygen tanks. Although the fire was quickly contained, smoke was visible from the windows of the adjacent buildings.

Local media reports suggest that a primary school and a residential building had been evacuated as a precaution. The cause of the explosion is yet to be determined.

Footage from SkyTG24 television showed the high plumes of black smoke rising from the scene while firefighters worked to control the situation.
