According to Yogendra Sing CO Cantt, a furniture trader in Gorakhpur was deceived by a group of fraudsters who employed a peanuts gambling scam to extort Rs. 4 lakhs from him. The businessman was tricked into believing he had won Rs. 45 lakhs and eventually lost Rs. 15 lakhs to the fraudsters, who then threatened him to pay the remaining Rs. 11 lakhs.

The victim approached the Cantt Police for assistance, and upon investigation, the police arrested three members of the gang and seized Rs. 2.30 lakhs, seven fake Aadhaar cards, three PAN cards, and a bike and car from them. The accused were identified as Manoj Dubey, Radheshyam Singh alias Munna Singh, and Amit Kumar.
