A noteworthy development brings good news for pensioners in India. The Department of Posts, in partnership with the India Post Payments Bank, has introduced an innovative solution for obtaining the Digital Life Certificate (DLC) without the need for traditional in person visits. Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav has unveiled this exciting development, emphasizing the convenience and accessibility it offers to pensioners.

Previously, pensioners had the challenging task of physically visiting treasuries, banks, or various government departments to submit their life certificates. Now, they can heave a sigh of relief, as obtaining the DLC has become hassle free. Pensioners can get their DLC at their nearest post office or with the assistance of Postmen and Gramin Dak Sevaks, all for a nominal fee of just Rs. 70, making it an affordable option for all.

In this digital age, the life certificate is automatically sent to the relevant department online, ensuring a seamless process that does not disrupt pension disbursement. This service is now accessible in all post offices, thanks to the involvement of the India Post Payments Bank.

Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav explained that the Department of Posts is committed to making the digital life certificate available at the doorstep of pensioners from various departments. This can be done by reaching out to the local postman or by using the Post Info Mobile App. To access this service, pensioners need to provide essential information, including their Aadhaar number, mobile number, bank or post office account number, and PPO number.

This initiative is a welcome development for pensioners, particularly those residing in remote areas. It eliminates the need for long and costly journeys to submit their life certificates. Yadav emphasized the convenience and relief that pensioners will experience through this digital innovation.

Additionally, pensioners can now withdraw their pensions using the Aadhaar enabled payment system at their doorstep through the postman. This additional service streamlines the pension distribution process, further enhancing the lives of pensioners.

The introduction of the Digital Life Certificate service by the Department of Posts and the India Post Payments Bank demonstrates a commitment to serving the elderly population in India. This digital solution simplifies the process of obtaining life certificates and receiving pension payments, bringing comfort and convenience to the lives of pensioners across the nation.
