In a strategic move aimed at advancing infrastructure development, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has emphasized the significance of timely completion of construction projects related to public welfare. Emphasizing accountability, he has announced a 5-year guarantee for newly constructed roads, placing the responsibility on construction agencies for reconstruction if roads deteriorate within this stipulated period.

Initiating action within the Public Works Department, the Chief Minister conducted a thorough review of ongoing and upcoming projects, providing essential guidance. He urged ministerial officials to regularly review projects, conduct field visits, and maintain stringent quality standards.

Appreciating Uttar Pradesh's FDR technology for road construction, the Chief Minister advocated for its effective implementation in the Public Works Department. To improve infrastructure planning, he suggested GIS mapping of all state, district, and rural roads, underlining the importance of adhering to specified timelines and ensuring project quality.

Recognizing that delays in public projects lead to increased costs and inconvenience for citizens, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for a dedicated focus on timeliness. Particularly in the construction of crucial projects such as medical colleges and universities, he stressed the significance of high-quality work and timely completion.

The Chief Minister recommended regular project reviews, field visits, and collaboration with esteemed institutions like IIT, NIT, and MNNIT for manual work. Measures suggested included ensuring an adequate workforce, outsourcing skilled youth, and establishing guidelines for their service.

Underlining transparency and accountability, the Chief Minister outlined measures to prevent the involvement of criminal elements in public projects. He insisted on clear conditions for the protection of roads constructed by agencies or contractors for the next 5 years.

Additional recommendations encompassed widening rural roads based on traffic needs, streamlining the tender process, and adopting unified schedule rates for building works. The proposal for a new policy to transform district roads and routes, particularly in Ayodhya, underscored the use of cutting-edge technology for enhanced connectivity and the establishment of new benchmarks in construction practices. In recognition of the successful e-office pilot, the Chief Minister proposed complete digitization for heightened timeliness and transparency in the department.
