Varanasi: The Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi is now the first airport in the state to have access to ultrafast 5G service, according to a recent announcement from Bharti Airtel ("Airtel"), India's top telecommunications service provider. The other two airports that have a new terminal are those in Bengaluru and Pune.

Varanasi was one of the first 8 cities in the nation to get the Airtel 5G Plus service. The services are currently offered at Benaras Hindu University (BHU), Ghatt Road, Adampur, Beniya Bagh Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Rajghat, Sarnath, Sigra, Thateri Bazaar, and a few other locations. In order to eventually make its services available throughout the city, Airtel is currently expanding its network.

Customers flying in and out of Varanasi can take advantage of the fast Airtel 5G Plus network throughout the terminal. While at the terminals for arrival and departure, lounges, boarding gates, migration and immigration counters, security areas, baggage claim belts, parking areas, etc., passengers can use their mobile phones at lightning speeds. All customers with 5G smartphones will be able to use Airtel 5G Plus at high speeds with their current data plans. Since the current Airtel 4G SIM supports 5G, there is no need to switch out the SIM.

"I am thrilled to announce the beginning of a new chapter in Varanasi as we power the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport with Airtel 5G Plus. Airtel customers can now access superfast HD video streaming, games, multiple chats, instant photo uploads, and more while at the airport thanks to their mobile devices' lightning fast fast speeds. I appreciate all of the help from Varanasi Airport management in making this project a reality. In important parts of the city, 5G services are already available to Airtel customers. We are currently expanding the network to make our services available throughout Varanasi, said Sovan Mukerjee, CEO of Bharti Airtel, Uttar Pradesh.

For customers, Airtel 5G Plus offers three key advantages. First of all, it utilises a technology with the broadest adoption and most advanced ecosystem in the world. This guarantees seamless operation of the Airtel network on all 5G smartphones in India. Second, the business guarantees the best experience, including call connect times that are 20 to 30 times faster than they are now and brilliant voice quality. Finally, with its unique power reduction solution, the Airtel 5G Plus network will also be more environmentally friendly.
