The BBC has issued an apology after a live broadcast of an FA Cup match was disrupted by a pornographic prank.

The incident occurred while host Gary Lineker was on air, and he was interrupted by loud moaning sounds in the studio.

Later, Gary Lineker took to Twitter to post that the noise had come from a mobile phone that had been secretly placed in the studio. He stated that it was "amusing" but the BBC has apologized for the incident and pledged to investigate what had occurred.

A BBC representative stated that they apologize to viewers who were offended by the incident that happened during the live coverage of the football match between Wolves and Liverpool, and that they are currently investigating how it occurred.

Lineker, along with pundits Paul Ince and Danny Murphy, were previewing the match when the background was interrupted by loud noises

Lineker was momentarily surprised and had difficulty maintaining his composure while swiftly changing the coverage to Alan Shearer who was outside the studio.

During the 10 minutes of disrupted coverage, fans were alternately confused and amused as the football coverage was almost drowned out by the explicit audio.

"Somebody will be getting the sack playing loud porn sounds while Gary Lineker opened his mouth on prematch chat," one viewer commented.

The host of Match of the Day tried to dismiss the incident as the noise persisted, and said to Shearer, "I think someone's sending something on their phone. I'm not sure if you heard it at home."
