Some are known for dealing tough with the notorious criminals but today we'll talk about a female IPS officer who not only fulfills her duty for the nation but is also a successful actress in Bollywood with excellent acting skills. Not just that, she also loves writing poetry. Balancing being an IPS officer and working in films is big a challenge, but this woman officer has demonstrated it beautifully. Meet Bhopal's IPS Gem

The women we're talking about is no other but IPS Simala Prasad. She was born on October 8, 1980, in Bhopal and completed her education from her hometown. She went to St. Joseph Coyed School for her early education. Later, she completed her B.Com from Student From Excellence and her postgraduate studies from Bhopal University, passing the PSSC exam. Simala Prasad earned a gold medal in Sociology from Barkatullah University in Bhopal. She successfully cleared one of the most challenging exams in the country, the UPSC exam.

Loved Dance and Acting Since Childhood

Since childhood, Simla had a love for dance and acting. She actively took part in plays during school and college. Known for her beauty and simplicity, she got offers to act in films. Simla worked in Bollywood movies and did her debut with "Alif" in 2017. Later she also worked in the movie "Naksha" which was released in 2019. Recently, her web series "Aspirant" became popular, telling the story of three friends preparing for the UPSC exam.

Fearless IPS Powerhouse

Simla Prasad, an IPS officer from the 2010 batch, is known for her fearless approach and criminals tremble at the sound of her name. When she was posted in Dindori, Madhya Pradesh, she made a distinct identity and marked her fear in Naxal affected areas. Currently, she is posted as SP in Betul, Madhya Pradesh and continues her career in the law enforcement.


Home Inspired IPS Choice

In one of her interactions with the media, she revealed the source of her passion and inspiration. Simala said that the atmosphere at her home sparked her desire to serve the country. She believed that there was no better platform than this to serve the country. The inspiration to become an IPS officer came from her father was an IAS officer. Further she told that, Dr. Bhagirath Prasad, a former Member of Parliament inspired her throughout her journey. Simala's mom, Mehroonisa Parvej is a famous author and is honoured with the Padma Shri, a significant award from the Indian government.

Cleared PSC Exam Without Coaching

Simala achieved success in her first Public Service Commission (PSC) exam without taking classes from any coaching institute. From there, she secured her first government position as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). Later, she further illuminated her family's name by successfully clearing the UPSC exam and fulfilling her dream of becoming an IPS officer.
