Varanasi. Akasa Air has announced that it will begin offering services from Varanasi's Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, starting with a scheduled direct flight service to Bengaluru from February 18, 2023.
The airline's first flight will take off for Varanasi from Bengaluru at 12:30 pm and will reach Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport at 3:00 pm.
The same aircraft will depart from Varanasi as QP 1422 at 3:40 pm, reaching Bengaluru at 6:05 pm.
The flight schedule has been released on the airline's website and ticket booking has also begun through well-known online ticket booking agencies.
The one way fare between Varanasi and Bengaluru is approximately Rs 6500.
Nepal's aviation company Buddha Air has also submitted a proposal to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to start direct flight service of 72 seater planes between Varanasi and Pokhara.
If the proposal is approved by the DGCA, direct flight service between Varanasi and Pokhara will be available in the near future.
Buddha Air currently operates two days a week from Varanasi to Kathmandu and due to increasing demand for seats, a proposal has been sent to the DGCA for airlines to operate daily flights from Varanasi to Kathmandu and two days a week from Varanasi to Pokhara.
Most flights from Varanasi's Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport are to Delhi, with 49 flights operating between Varanasi and Delhi on a weekly basis.
This includes aircraft from Indigo, Air India, SpiceJet, Vistara, and GoFirst.
Currently, 40 flights operate between Varanasi and Mumbai in a week.
Direct flights are also operated by Air India Express between Varanasi and Sharjah on international routes and Buddha Air operates 2 days a week on the international route between Varanasi and Kathmandu.
